| Hi all. I've been doing some thinking lately. Scary, I know but bear with me, please. I've been debating doing this for awhile now and finally I have decided. My LJ will now become solely my fic blog. I've slowly started pulling away from LJ over the last year and a half and I'm not on it very much. I'm more likely to be reading blogs on blogspot or watching vids on youtube. So that being said, you can read about my day to day stuff at http://definingkelly.blogspot.com/ . I'll post a link on LJ when I update. And I'll continue to post my fics here as usual. You know, one per year (if that). ^_^ So yeah. Laters. P.S. I updated. | |

| Hi! Did anyone miss me? *cricket chirp* Yeah, that's what I thought. Anyway, on to the Thanksgiving Recap! There were a few moments when I thought I wouldn't make it. Such as: - Sticking my hand inside of a chicken - disturbing
- Finding out that the innards of the chicken were not packaged in nice neat plastic bags - ick!
- Picking the chicken up by the wings and discovering that it felt like picking up a person - creepy
- Gravy, how you hate me
- Dishes, how I hate you
- Pumpkin pie. I followed the damn recipe, why did you taste horrible?!
Some of the funnest parts? - Kisa licked a hole in the meringue of the butterscotch pie.
- I placed a towel over both the butterscotch and pumpkin pie.
- Kisa stepped in the butterscotch pie and tried to lick it through the towel.
- She saw me coming, panicked and ran through not one but two pies.
- Much laughing ensued.
Not bad for hosting my first Thanksgiving. I'm proud to say that I cooked all the food minus the broccoli casserole and sweet potatoes and the only thing that didn't turn out right was the pumpkin pie. Even the gravy turned out good (only after I washed my hands of the whole thing and walked away did it thicken up). Go me!

| I hate finals week. I thought that after you were done with college, finals would be done with you. Not so if you come back to work for your university library and NEVER LEAVE.
By the time Sunday rolls around, I will have had five different schedules. Isn't that lovely. Add insomnia and a hint of road construction to that mix, shake well and you have the recipe for a totally AWESOME week.
So, how are you?
I have only once tried to check in a book with the stapler. I feel that is a major accomplishment. I have also come to the conclusion that our library is wonderful when you are a little sleep deprived and may or may not be walking in a straight line. We have all sorts of tables and walls to lean on or to bounce off of if you happen to be walking. Also, lovely, lovely, soft, cushy chairs to curl up in on your lunch break. And a nice bookcase to lean on when you're printing. In case you almost fall over standing still. Which takes, you know, TALENT.
I also got to miss out on all the physical labor going on around the library. Sometimes being the ILL/Circ person is pretty awesome. I totally zoned on the others moving the crap out of the old Circ. office to make way for the new "Coffee Shop".
And everyone has been talking to me. About grown up stuff. Which is weird 'cause I only ever get to talk to the students. Which goes along the lines of "Trust me. That professor has always been a dork." and "Seriously. If you just adjust the margins a little, your paper will go from 4 pages to like 6. Totally!" (Also, I think I zoned a little when we were talking and I came to to find myself agreeing with someone. I may have agreed to do something. What, I don't know. We'll see on Monday, I guess.)
Also, I feel a bit ...tetchy. Like rabid dog tetchy. Like if you try to get me to do anything more mind taxing than checking in something, I will tear your head off. Which if you know me, you know that I feel like that 24/7 but am too nice to say anything. Also, my shoes would be ruined. But now? Now I'm ready. Except no one is being mean to me. So I can't be mean to them.
I wonder if anyone would notice it if I curled up under my desk for a snooze.

| My goodness, I have been busy! With what you ask? Well, I respond, I don't know. Seriously. It feels as if I have been on the move every second of the day but I don't remember what it is that is taking up all my time. Early on-set Alzheimer's, anyone? All I know is that I am pooped. Not literally though, cause you know, ewww. But I do have a few things that I remember that I can share with you! I know, you can hardly wait, huh? Humor the crazy person, okay? Makes life easier. At least mine. *g* So in order to speed things up, I present to you this wonderful bullet point list. I expect lots applause because I worked so hard on the 5 minutes it took. - I moved.
- It sucked.
- My apartment doesn't!
- I have new bookcases. Photos to follow....whenever I get around to it.

Also, I have one completely finished, out-of-sequence-in-a-series-yet-to-be-wr itten, even beta'd! HP story that I have yet to correct after it was said beta'd. And I just started a Fruits Basket fic featuring Tohru and Akito. | There is a dog in the library. Let me repeat this. A DOG IN THE LIBRARY.
The lady had no idea we didn't allow dogs. Who brings a dog to the library at 11pm in winter?

| ...but I feel like I did. Ow. :S
Okay, so update on everything that has happened this week.
I got the apartment! Woohooo! Laundry in my apartment! Garbage disposal! NO MORE STAIRS! I cannot tell you how much that last one makes me happy. There are just no words.
The move well, I can say several words about that. Never move in winter, people. Just...don't. My deadline to be out (the one that I gave my landlady) was supposed to be Friday. My planned day to start moving furniture? Wednesday or Thursday. When does it start snowing and icing? Wednesday/Thursday-ish. (I can't remember the exact date. Brain is dead.) So my uncle comes on Friday. Someone shoot me. Then on Saturday when it snowed like four inches and I was thinking that I would get the last of my stuff down and clean the apartment and never have to go up those stupid stairs ever again, I get the flu. What horrible thing have I done to deserve this, I ask of you? So it is now Monday and I still have to clean that ******* apartment and go up those ******* stairs. But I will be done. God and the internets as my witness, I will be done tonight.
Btw, did I mention that now that it's finals week, I don't get off work until 1am? Seriously, someone get the shotgun.

| Wow. The kittos and I may be moving in the next couple of weeks. The girl in the downstairs apartment (the one with the washer/dryer in her apartment!!!) suddenly vanished. So now the apartment is up for grabs and I get first dibs. I love my landlady. =^_^= The rent is a little bit more ($375) but not too terrible. I took a look at it today. It's bigger than mine but damn. I didn't think there was anyone out there that was a worse housekeeper than me. It is seriously going to have to be cleaned. Hazmat suits may need to be used for the bathroom. There's mold in the tub/shower, in the toilet and on the walls above the tub/shower. I'm no stranger to dirt and all but seriously, this made me want to take a shower with bleach. *shudders* It was ick. It was hard to judge if the bedrooms were the same size or not. My bedrooms are more rectangular and the ones downstairs are more square. The living room has the same weird angles issue that I've been dealing with, just in a different spot. Oh well. The kitchen is larger than mine and it has a garbage disposal. Kisa will now have a rival for leftovers. I swear, that cat will eat anything. The thing I'm most excited about? Not having to go outside to do my laundry. *grins*
I'm still thinking on it and I want my mom to take a look at it before I decide anything. I want to make sure that it will work for me and that I'm not going to be trading my really nice apartment for a dump just 'cause I don't want to go out in the snow to do my laundry. It's really hard to stop thinking about the mini laundry room! But I am seriously excited! And also a little sad to think that I may be leaving my very first home, never mind that I am just moving underneath it.
